Rick and Shelley went to church together at Crossroads Community Church for over 12 years. They were friends for all those years as they had served together, him doing coffee and Shelley doing greeting, safety and children. Their story started in February 2023. He asked her out to dinner on February 2, 2023 and they started talking about meeting perspective loves and it went from there. Rick proposed to Shelley on November 12, 2023 and made plans to marry in 2024.
